THE PROJECT

OEP is home to a first-of-its-scale regional digital twin. For this project, DCBolt partnered with Unity, the world’s leading platform for creating and operating real-time 3D content.

This brand-new 3D technology maps 800 square miles of the region. Additionally, the Orlando Regional Digital Twin recreates 40 square miles in high-fidelity, including Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties. It represents the first large regional digital twin in use by an economic development organization.

The system provides a dynamic virtual copy of physical assets, processes, systems and/or environments that look and behave identically to their real-world counterparts.

The digital twin technology and capabilities will have nearly unlimited uses, exemplifying why Orlando has been designated the "MetaCenter of the Metaverse."

An elegantly curved, panoramic LED wall measuring nearly 24' end-to-end serves as the backdrop to a custom-made LED floor. Marrying the two LED canvases are 4x hologram glass panels - creating a seamless viewing experience. In total the system is comprised of 140 LED cabinets which account for 12 million pixels of resolution.

There are over 150 real time data sets piped into the system, giving OEP and its partners the ability to demonstrate to established companies, start-ups, entrepreneurs and thought leaders from around the globe the possibilities available to them in Orlando – from available land and real estate, as well as areas of interest for different industries, infrastructure connectivity and talent availability all while saving drive time.

The Orlando Regional Digital Twin will enable the organizations across the region to market Orlando, engage stakeholders, explore solutions for shared challenges, and grow the region and economy. 

By aggregating public and private sources of information, the digital twin serves as a critical resource for all decision makers in the area, making the technology a vital piece of Orlando’s future.
